Providing Healing For America's Heroes
cropped-SoultoSole_2020-1-1024x474.png

Soul to Sole Connection, a 501(c)(3) organization, is dedicated to the mental health of America’s military and first responders.  We provide FREE counseling and wellness services to veterans, service members, first responders and their families, focused on healing from trauma on our private 50-acre farm.

America, especially our military and first responders, is enthralled in a mental health crisis that demands action. The unique demands placed on service members, first responders and their families can lead to tragic consequences:  PTSD, depression, divorce, drug & alcohol addiction, and suicide. These challenges deserve our most effective healing methods – The Horses and Nature!

Mental health with Horses works where traditional counseling methods fall short. Decidedly action-oriented, mental health with horses engages clients to:

- Understand & Recognize Patterns

- Build on their Personal Strengths

- Translate Insights into Life-Changing Solutions

OUR MISSION
To Provide Ground-Based Counseling and Wellness Services, with Horses, Focused Healing from Trauma.

Participants suffering from trauma, PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) or Military Sexual Trauma (MST), are offered the time, space, and support to heal.

We provide a supportive haven, where concerns and struggles can be explored and released. The experiential nature of working with horses engages the active and retired in their own healing process, reaching solutions that meet them squarely on their own terms, with lasting results.

Soul to Sole Connection is committed to “Stomping the Stigma” around mental health, especially within the military and first responders.

HOW IT HELPS

Clients experience activities with horses that remove much of the perceived stigma associated with traditional talk therapy. When treatment is about doing, it is more engaging. Engagement increases impact!

Data confirms that the military population is more likely to start and complete treatment with this model, with less dropout and recidivism than traditional talk therapies. Military clients repeatedly attest to how quickly and deeply they get to the root of their issues and subsequent meaningful changes

One aspect of our work is to gather pre/post assessments to establish validating data / research. Of 105 Veterans, who completed anonymous assessments, we have seen:

73% of these Veterans experienced PTSD symptom reduction

48.6% showed a clinically significant reduction of PTSD symptoms (reduction of 10+ points)

This was accomplished during an average number of 6.7 sessions (as opposed to the typical 10-12 sessions which are standard in the current Evidence Based therapies for PTSD)
